Senator Maria Espinoza is a Democrat from the state of California. She started her interest in politics at a young age. Her visit to Washington DC sparked an interest in communicating with senators about issues important to their constituents. She went to Stanford with the idea that government can be used to help its people. She graduated from Stanford with a B.A. in History and then went on to Berkeley to get her M.A. in Political Science. Senator Espinoza uses the Conscience Model of Representation because she believes that her constituents voted her to represent their interests but also because they appreciated her views on issues that she feels strongly about.
